End of the Year Balloon Pop Countdown {FREEBIE}

End of the Year Balloon Pop Countdown {FREEBIE}

I'm sure you have probably heard the phrase "Don't count the days...make the days count!"

Why can't you do both?

As the end of the year is coming to a close I'm sure you are counting down the days. One of my favorite end of the year routines is the balloon pop count down. You can download the FREEBIE HERE.

The balloon pop count down is a great way to keep students engaged and motivated while ending the year on a high point.

How it works:

  1. Select the reward cards you want to use and cut them out.
  2. Place one card inside each balloon before inflating.
  3. Inflate the balloons with a card in each one.
  4. Number the balloons the number of days remaining in the school year.
  5. Display the balloons in the classroom by taping them to a bulletin board or hanging them with string.
  6. At the end of each day, one student is selected to pop the balloon and read the activity.
  7. The students complete the activity at the end of the next day if they have earned it.

It's so fun and keeps students motivated during the last few days of school. One of the best ways to insure student investment is to let your students select the activities. Some of my students' favorites include the glow stick dance party,  Minute to Win It Games, and STEM activities

I just put together my countdown taking into consideration my students interest as well as the amount of prep time that the activities would take. Here is my countdown:
